Learn New Tricks

Went to the ASG meeting today it was a fun day to learn new tricks The first thing I learned was how to make a sewing caddy, using liter soda bottle and scarps from my stash, what a way to use leftovers. We also learn some paper piecing, pin weaving, and crocheting a lacy yarn.  I plan to make a small Christmas wall hanging and a scarf. That's all for now check back with you very soon!

It's 4:30 in the morning I can't sleep, so what do I do I go to my blog, too see how long its been since I wrote and posted anything, I checked the date, and see 2011, Wow! I said to myself," are you kidding me, I know I have been busy at work, but this is ridiculous'. this blog was and is a way to keep me sane, and give a history of what I am sewing, I have been sewing and crafting for the last two years and I haven't shared much, so I gonna make myself a promise to blog at least one a month just to show history and what I have learned, Wish me Luck!

My First Quilt

Its' been quite a long time since I have written a post on my blog, I must say this year I have been busy working on several projects.  I have never work on a quilt before, and since I am in the Sewing Guild I decide to attempt a mystery quilt in which we were given instructions this pass January, its been along lesson in understanding all the terms and techniques that go into quilting, the key thing that I have learned is how important squaring your blocks are and that 1/4 inch seam allowance. I still have a lot of work to do with this quilt, its still on my design board and I am working on how to make the this scrappy look work on this mystery quilt. I have been busy making aprons, I love aprons, I done a few for Shawnees Flirty Apron Swap, and make an apron out of cut denim in legs from this mystery bag apron challenge this pass April, that was a lot of fun!

At it again!

It's very early in the morning, and I have been checking out the blogs, I was looking Shawnee's very, very cool blog, and discover that there is going to be a Easter basket swap, so of course I signed up, I just love the Easter Holiday!  I have went to Coastal Bend  Quilt and Needlework Guild Quilt Jubilee, it was wonderful to see all the beautiful quilts and needlework, I will  be posting pictures of what I  saw, there was also good shopping. I found some more  fabric that I used at the last apron swap, so I will be making me a apron, in that pretty pink, red and turquoise fabric, my trim will be a little different, can't wait to see how this apron turns out. I have been doing some community service through the Sew Guild, which, I am a member, we made some turtle pillows, I will be posting some pictures shortly.
